Internal Funding Schemes
Information about internal granting schemes for 2008:
-
Faculty Grants
Funds originally budgeted for Career Development Grants, New Staff Grants, JCU
Collaborative Grants and Teaching Relief Awards will be distributed through the
Faculties, in accordance with principles determined by the Research Committee.
-
Research Advancement Program (RAP)
The RAP aims to broaden the University's research base through investment
in capacity building in emerging fields of research excellence in terms
of the quality and impact of publications and other outputs. RAP funding
is provided on a competitive basis to research clusters that demonstrate
through a business plan a high return on investment. [Awarded for 2006-8.]
-
Competitive Research Incentive Grants (CRIG)
The CRIG scheme provides incentive funding on a one-year basis to support
research proposals rated as highly meritorious by external peer review
but which fall just below the funding cut-off in Australian Competitive
Grant competitions. The objective is to assist researchers to commence
or continue quality projects with the expectation that preliminary
outcomes will enhance the competitiveness of the projects for external funding
in the next round. The scheme also supports excellent researchers who are
temporarily without external funds.
-
JCU Postdoctoral Fellowships (PDF)
The Fellowship scheme aims to attract highly qualified early career
researchers to work in fields of interest which complement the Research
Strategic Plan and enhance an Area of Research Strength. The scheme serves
as a mechanism for fostering effective and productive group research and
for encouraging excellence in individual research.
Nb. this scheme will not be run in 2007.
