BY LOCATION - Singapore
JCU has two campuses in Singapore. The first is located at 600 Upper Thomson Road and the second in Street 54 in Ang Mo Kio.
Students have the option of a choice of off-campus hostels or apartments.
JCU Singapore’s accommodation service provides assistance and advice to help you understand your accommodation options. On arrival, most students choose to stay in an off-campus student hostel (arranged by the JCU Singapore Accommodation Service) while they consider their long-term requirements. The choice is always yours but a student hostel does provide a good level of accommodation at a reasonable cost and gives you the time you need to make a well informed decision on long-term accommodation.
Various types of commercial accommodation options are made available to students. Each of these options is identified based on the Service Standards developed and agreed upon by commercial accommodation providers. All the private accommodation operators are assessed after an initial site inspection and subsequent negotiations to determine special student rental rates and other terms and conditions.
Students who opt for private accommodation are referred to private homeowners/landlords after relevant site visits. They are, however, required to book for temporary accommodation to Singapore to be physically present to sign tenancy agreements and view the premises.
Should the student prefer a wider range of options not found in the university-recommended accommodation, the Accommodation Officer is to engage credible property agents to render assistance. The Accommodation Officer is to ensure that the property agents are in full compliance to CEA (Council of Estate Agency) regulations.
Accommodation requests from students should be sent either through the Pre-Arrival Service Online Booking System,or by email to the Accommodation Officer, specifying their preferences.
This accommodation request workflow illustrates the booking procedures.
