# Three of these species (Mozambique tilapia, Spotted tilapia, and Eastern Gambusia) have been declared noxious species in Queensland under the Fisheries Act 1994 (Fisheries Regulation 1995, Schedule 9, Section 105). Excluding the unidentified 'carp' species, the others are permitted imports although some of these species, especially the cichlids are currently under review for import restriction.

# It is illegal to possess, sell or buy either of the above fish, and an offence to release them into Queensland waterways and to use them as bait, live or dead. If you catch these fish DO NOT return them to the water. Kill them humanely and dispose of away from the water. Do not use as bait.
