Re-enrolment due date approaches

If you have already re-enrolled for 2006, please disregard this message.

You are reminded that if you intend to study at JCU in 2006 you need to submit your Application for Enrolment for 2006 by Monday 9 January 2006.   A late fee is payable after this date.

You can re-enrol online via StudentsOnline.

Further information about Re-enrolment for 2006  is available on the web.   Please note that, when nominating your subjects for 2006, you will need to advise the study period for each subject offering you choose.  More information can be found on study periods on JCU’s website at Study Periods and Census Dates

Students who cannot re-enrol on line

The following categories of students are not permitted to re-enrol online and will need to submit a paper re-enrolment form.  Before you proceed to re-enrol online, check if any of the categories below apply to you.

> Students who:

- have already submitted a paper 2006 Application for Enrolment form for any course

- are miscellaneous or cross institutional students

- are not enrolled in any subjects in 2005 or withdrew from all subjects in 2005

should contact the Student Enquiries Centre if they wish to re-enrol in 2006.

> Postgraduate research students who suspended their enrolment beyond 31 December 2005 should contact the Graduate Research School if they wish to re-enrol in 2006.

> Students studying through Holmes Colleges, ITTI and off-shore will be given direction by staff at their campus of study should they wish to re-enrol in 2006.

> Study abroad students and Foundation Course students should contact the International Student Centre if they wish to re-enrol in 2006.

Association Services Fee

Payment of the Association Services Fee or equivalent amount is compulsory for all students, and for students studying in Teaching Period 1, must be made by Monday 20 February 2006 (the first day of Study Period 1).  A payment slip for the 2006 Association Service Fee will be mailed to students in January.  Payment must be made by the due date, so it is important that you plan in advance to be in a position to make payment on or before the due date.

Student Enquiries Centre Christmas Office Hours

The Student Enquiries Centre at JCU Townsville and JCU Cairns will close for business at 12noon on Friday 23 December 2005 and will reopen at 9am on Tuesday 3 January 2006.

Please note that Friday 23 December 2005 is the census date for Study Period 10 and 11 subjects. Students enrolled in a Study Period 10 and/or 11 subject should note that their enrolment is considered finalised as at close of business on that day.

Census Date: A student’s enrolment in a subject is considered to be finalised as at close of business on the last working day on or before the census date.

Student contribution amounts, tuition fees and international student fees are payable on or before the census date. Students who are eligible to defer payment through HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP must submit the appropriate form by the census date to defer all or part of their payment due. Failure to make payment or arrangements to defer payment by a subject’s census date will result in cancellation of the student’s enrolment in the subject.

Withdrawals from subjects must be made, in writing, by the close of business on the last working day on or before the census date.

Government legislation specifies that a student cannot enrol in a subject as a Commonwealth supported student after the census date for the subject.
