[Staff-bulletins] Announcement of Appointment of PVC (Science, Engineering & Information Technology)

Dear Colleagues,

 

This is to inform you that Professor Chris Cocklin has accepted the offer of appointment as the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Science, Engineering and Information Technology and will join JCU around the middle of February 2007.

 

Professor Cocklin comes to us from Monash University where he has been Professor of Geography and Environmental Science since 1997, and from 2000-2005 Director of the Monash Environment Institute.  Professor Cocklin has a BSocSci from the University of Waikato, an MA from the University of Guelph, Canada, and a PhD from McMaster University, Canada.  He has published more than 160 papers and reports on environmental topics.

 

We are very pleased to be obtaining such an excellent scholar to lead the Faculty into the future.
