Each year James Cook University is allocated Indigenous Support Funds (ISF) in accordance with the University’s performance in the participation, retention and completion of students from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds in its academic programs. Seventy per cent of these funds are allocated to the School of Indigenous Australian Studies (SIAS) and 30 per cent is distributed to other areas of the University.

A competitive process has previously been established for the allocation of the 30 per cent of the ISF and applications are invited for these support funds for 2009.
