BEST - Business Excellence Series in the Tropics - is brought to you by the James Cook University School of Business and features a series of presentations by prominent community, industry and government leaders who share their knowledge and experience on a range of topical themes, issues, challenges and trends.Our high profile presenters leave an indelible impression on attendees by delivering memorable, challenging and often motivational experiences.The JCU School of Business is able to extend its professional linkages to consistently source high calibre speakers, recognised both nationally and internationally.

The School of Business has delivered BEST functions in both Townsville and Cairns, which are always well attended by prominent regional business leaders, high ranking Defence personnel, regional political and public figures and interested members of the general public, business community and education sector.The BEST events provide a unique opportunity for business networking and keeps you up to date with the latest developments within JCU’s School of Business and the broader Faculty of Law, Business and the Creative Arts.

The Inaugural BEST event in Townsville featured US Ambassador Robert . McCallum Jr, with subsequent BEST events featuring keynote speakers such as Reserve Bank Governor Glen Stephens, Financial Advisor and media personality Paul Clitheroe and Westpac CEO Gail Kelly.

All BEST event programs feature a keynote presentation, a quality 2-course lunch, a structured Q & A segment and a relaxed ‘fireside’ chat with the speaker conducted by the Head of the JCU School of Business, Professor David Low.
