Bachelor of Business (Financial Management)
Overview
|
Description: |
Finance is one of the world’s fastest growing and most dynamic industries. Global financial market integration has led to the emergence of multinational corporations. In the commercial world of today, all executives need expertise in the “art of managing money” which has become a sophisticated discipline in its own right. Finance is the study of financial and capital markets and is concerned with decision making within those markets and how values or prices of financial assets are determined. It is concerned with investment decisions, financing decisions of a firm and the development of risk hedging strategies so as to minimise the damaging effects of adverse movements in share prices, interest rates, exchange rates and other uncertainties.
The course includes foundation subjects in the areas of accounting for decision making, economics, data analysis, customer experience, business law, business information systems, management and personal professional skills. These subjects are then complemented by specialist topics in portfolio management, financial institutions and markets, multinational business finance and business modelling.
The Bachelor of Business offers choice and flexibility, with the option to combine Sports and Events Management with a second major from Accounting, Economic and Regional Development, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Management and Entrepreneurship, Tourism Management, Business Law and Communication Design. Study in non-business disciplines is available to cater for individual interests or a specialist career goal. |
