Counselling can help you 'stay and succeed' at JCU. We understand the unique challenges facing you as a tertiary student, and we have strong networks with academic and professional staff at JCU.
Students see a psychologist for any issue that is having an adverse impact on their studies. Issues do not need to be JCU-related or 'serious' for counselling to be helpful.
Students commonly see is for help with issues like:

  • Depression
  • Adjusting to change
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Traumatic Events
  • Academic-related concerns
  • Study anxieties
  • Alcohol or drug use
  • Personal relationships
  • Suicidal thoughts or Sexual concerns
  • Grief and loss
Most of our clients have between one and six counselling sessions.
