Clinical Placement (Honours)

External HECS Band 2

35 hours fieldwork. Semester 2.

Available to Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science Honours students only.

Staff: Mr J Warner.

This subject completes the process of clinical training in applied medical laboratory science and is available to honours students who have chosen the honours elective in level 4 Semester 1. The subject enables the student to undergo competency training in all disciplines of the clinical laboratory through a rotation of 12 weeks in a National Association of Testing Authority accredited clinical laboratory. This block may provide the forensic pathology focus for the honours students who have chosen the forensic stream.

Learning Objectives:

  1. display proficiency in all core disciplines of the medical laboratory.

Assessment by competency based assessment and case study presentations. Subject is ungraded.
