Foundation French 2

Townsville, Cairns HECS Band 1

26 hours lectures, 26 hours tutorials. Semester 2 (Townsville campus). 26 hours lectures, 13 hours tutorials, 19 other contact hours held in Cairns on three Saturdays. Semester 2 (Cairns campus).

Available to all students who have passed or have an equivalent knowledge of French.

General French language appropriate to the objectives below.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to take students to a level of minimum ‘creative’ proficiency (approximately 1- on the ISLPR scale). Students will be able to write and talk about their leisure pursuits and their past and future activities, to perform tasks such as shopping and hiring a bicycle, and to read simplified authentic texts.

Assessment by assignments and/or in-class tests and/or end-of-semester examinations: listening (25%); speaking (25%); reading (25%); writing (25%). Completion of fortnightly homework assignments is a compulsory requirement of the subject.
