Urban Geography and Design

26 hours lectures, 36 hours practicals, 20 hours workshops. Semester 2.

The history of urban development, theories of urban hierarchy, function, urban land use and planning techniques with special reference to Australia.

Learning Objectives:

  1. students will learn the processes and trends that have shaped cities and towns, and the place in history and the present of planning schemes and methods.

Assessment by final examination (40%); course work (60%).
