Technology & Information Services
JCU provides integrated IT and library facilities and most students take advantage of the extensive technology resources available to them. All students are issued with a computer account and generous Internet access account. General purpose computer laboratories are available on all campuses, some open 24 hours, seven days a week. IT advice/help desks are located in the Cairns and Townsville libraries, staffed by highly qualified librarians and technicians to advise students about researching effectively and making the most of the wealth of electronic resources available.

The JCU Library (in Townsville and Cairns) has over 400 000 books in its collection and over 20 000 current journal titles (over 15 000 available electronically), making it one of the best regional university libraries in the country. The library prides itself on offering a high standard of support for research and postgraduate students. Visit the JCU library online at: www.jcu.edu.au/libcomp

JCU’s Students Online service lets students access their enrolment details, lecture timetables, on campus activities and more any time of day. Learn JCU is a web resource for all JCU subjects that provides study resources, noticeboards and discussion forums. InfoHelp is the advice/help desk service for all students for technology issues. InfoHelp also offers classes and short courses about general computing issues and accessing print and electronic information.
