JCU Alumni Speakers Program

The Alumni Speakers Program gives the JCU community an opportunity to hear directly from some of the University's eminent Alumni. Different speakers will be invited to give presentations throughout the year about their experiences since graduating from JCU. Past Speakers

Ms Robin Sullivan

Head of Queensland's Department of Child Safety

Dr Glen Ulett
Senior Research Fellow, National Health Research Council, University of Queensland

As guest speaker at the JCU Alumni Speakers Program, Dr Ulett will compared his professional and life experiences as a young scientist in both Australia and the United States, the employment opportunities for science researchers as well as the hurdles and rewards that a research career pathway can offer.

Following being awarded his PhD from James Cook University, Dr Glen Ulett undertook four years of medical research in infectious diseases at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in the United States. During this time he was twice awarded the internationally recognized George McCraken Infectious Disease Fellowship.
