Fishing & Fisheries Research Centre
Multidisciplinary, collaborative fisheries research providers
The Fishing and Fisheries Research Centre provides pivotal, relevant stakeholder driven fisheries research. Located at James Cook University in the tropical north, the F&F Research Centre is in a unique position to provide timely research and advice to both state and federal fisheries managers.
The Fishing and Fisheries Research Centre aims to provide information for management of key fish stocks in reef and inshore areas of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area. It also aims to describe the people that fish in the GBRWHA which can be used to examine the social and economic impacts of management and evaluate alternative management strategies.
