For the first time, the International College of Surgeons (Chicago, USA) will be holding a quality Australasian regional forum, in collaboration with the North Australian Surgeons Group. The focus is to bring together renown international and regional experts in the fields of minimally invasive surgery of relevance to general surgical specialities. The cutting edge state of the art knowledge, skills and technologies will be discussed with emphasis on day-to-day practice. Both international and national speakers will be participating.
Abstracts
Abstracts are now being called until 19 January 2008 (extended). Accepted abstracts will be published in International Surgery (indexed on medline), after the meeting.
The Twin Cities of Townsville and Thuringowa are particularly pleasant weather wise at that time of the year. Participants will also have the opportunity to avail themselves to the warm hospitality of Tropical North Queensland. The city boasts exciting spots including the Reef HQ, Tropical Museum of North Queensland and Billabong Koala Sanctuary. Participants may also roam a little further to enjoy the natural beauty of the Wet Tropics Heritage Area and the Great Barrier Reef with its associated beaches.
International College of Surgeons (ICS) Fellowship
FREE 1st year fellowship fees including subscription to International Surgery (approx. US $190) will be applicable for non- ICS fellows registered for the full congress (21 to 23 March 2008), upon application.

Application forms for ICS fellowship will be made readily available at the conference registration desk, during the main meeting and Masterclass workshop.

ICS Australian National Section Informal Meeting on Satruday 22 March 2008.
This will be an opportunity for the Australian National Section fellows to meet with the International Executive Committee. Lunch will be provided.
