Measuring the activity and fatigue levels of people with end stage renal disease
Funding: $5,000
End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) is a complex and chronic illness which impacts on an individual's ability to perform activities associated with daily living. Little, however, is known about the level of activity of these individuals, and whether fatigue contributes to their activity levels. This study will investigate levels of activity and fatigue in people with ESRD who live in Far North Queensland. It will establish base line data for exploring patterns of activity and fatigue in ESRD and evaluate the feasibility for undertaking a larger longitudinal study. In addition, knowledge from this study will inform renal nursing practice.
