Notes:

1. The following are included in all types of Bench Fees except Accommodation only:

self catering shared accommodation, including kitchen facilities and bed linen
use of a dinghy (fuel not included) - all fuel is charged at $1.25/litre for JCU Users and $1.38/litre for External Users (inclu GST)
wet and dry laboratory and temperature controlled facilities
scuba tanks and air fill to qualified scuba divers
lecture theatre and all audiovisual equipment

2. To be eligible for the subsidised postgraduate fee, the student's university must certify that the work being done by the student at Orpheus Island is part of his/her thesis research. Supervisors of postgraduate research students are eligible to visit at a postgraduate rate also with the following exceptions:

for those days claimed at the student rate, the supervisor must spend their entire work time helping to establish the student's project rather than conducting their own research. If the student's project is so closely aligned to the supervisor's own research that it is difficult to differentiate between the two projects, the supervisor will be charged for some nights as a researcher and some nights as a student's assistant.
a supervisor may claim a maximum of 7 nights at the student rate per student over the life of the student's project
