Deferment of course – If you are a JCU student for the first time and you wish to defer your enrolment for that year, you will need to contact Student Enquiries Centre to do so. Please be aware that in some courses there are restrictions on deferrals. If you are a returning JCU student in the year that you wish to defer you will need to contact the Faculty Student Office for advice on what you need to do.
-
Credit for previous study – You will need to submit an Application for Credit for Previous Studies form to the Faculty Student Office. If you are applying for credit for previous studies outside of JCU, you will need to supply a certified copy of your Official Academic Record as proof of your studies. Your Official Academic Record is available from the institution at which you studied, and is usually on special letterhead/paper with the signature of the Registrar or Director of that Institution.
-
Cross institutional study – If you are wishing to enroll in subjects from another University for credit to your JCU degree you should contact the host Institution for the appropriate enrolment application and bring this, along with the relevant subject descriptions, to the Faculty Student Office for approval. You will also need to complete a Cross Institutional Application/ Approval Form.
-
Graduation – Application forms to graduate are available from University forms.
-
Official academic transcripts – Official academic transcripts are the only official records of your studies at James Cook University, and may be requested by employers, businesses or other Institutions as proof of your studies. Complete an Application to request an official academic.
-
Student academic records – These records are available from the Faculty Student Office and show all subjects that you have enrolled in as well as the results for these subjects. Also included will be any credit or enrolment notings on your record. Please note however that your Student Academic Record is NOT an official record, and may therefore not be accepted by other institutions and organisations as proof of your studies at JCU.
