Airport arrival service

The International Student Centre operates an arrival service during the two weeks prior to Orientation Week which is available to all new international students arriving in either Cairns or Townsville.

If you would like to be met at the airport, bus terminal or train station, you can register for this service by completing the Arrival Service Application Form. When you lodge your application you will receive a return email from us confirming that we will meet you. Please take this opportunity to check that all of your arrival details are listed correctly.

To take advantage of this service, ensure that you submit your completed application form in time to allow for 48 hours notice of a week day arrival and 72 hours notice if you are arriving over a weekend.

Unfortunately the Arrival Service is restricted to the fortnight before Orientation Week, however, we will meet you where possible if your classes begin prior to these dates.

If you are arriving outside of the designated Arrival Service dates, you can easily catch a taxi at the airport, train station or bus terminal and make your way to our campus or your accommodation. Taxis in Australia operate on a fixed fare system. The fare for your journey will be displayed on a meter located in the front of the taxi.

Please note: If you are studying at the Townsville campus and you arrive at the Cairns International Airport, you will need to make your own domestic travel arrangements between Cairns and Townsville. You will be able to use the free arrival pick-up service from your arrival point in Townsville to your accommodation.
