Welcome sessions

In Townsville, Welcome Sessions are held in the two weeks prior to Orientation Week. These sessions are compulsory for all new international students and include information such as:

  • Orientation week and important sessions to attend;

  • Your Overseas Student Health Cover;

  • Student visa requirements and compliance;

  • The ISC’s Happy Landing CDROM;

  • Enrolment and subject selection

  • Welcome event information;

  • Support services provided by ISC and JCU; and

  • Your JCU email account.

During the Welcome session, you will receive a Welcome pack which includes the following items:

  • Enrolment Guide;

  • Orientation week program;

  • Happy Landing CDROM;

  • How to access your JCU email account;

  • Overseas Student Health Cover card;

  • Temporary Student ID card;

  • City map

  • Campus map;

  • Bus timetable;

  • and more.

In Cairns, a Welcome session is held during Orientation Week and students receive their Welcome Pack when they first arrive at the International Student Centre.
