Calculation of scores and additional requirements

A Levels (GCE, Cambridge, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka): Scores are calculated as A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1, and must include results in not more than three subjects. Advanced Supplementary Levels (AS) are the equivalent of half a subject at A Level, A=2.5, B=2, C=1.5, D=1 , E=0.5. Forecast or Preliminary A Level results will be considered, with the exception of Hong Kong A Levels, for all programs except Medicine and Surgery.

Australia: Tertiary Entrance Rank (TER), University Aggregate Index (UAI), Equivalent National Tertiary Entrance Rank (ENTER).

Bangladesh: Scores are calculated on a percentage of the best 4 academic subjects in the Bangladesh Intermediate/Higher Secondary School Certificate.

Canada: Based on the average of the best 6 Ontario (OSSD or OAC) subjects as a percentage.

International Baccalaureat (IB): Aggregate of full Diploma (all six subjects) where 7=excellent, 6=very good, 5=good, 4=satisfactory, 3=mediocre, 2=poor, 1=very poor.

India: Scores calculated on a percentage of the best 4 academic subjects in either the All Indian School Boards or State Boards.

Ireland: Passes in five subjects including at least three at C level in Higher papers or passes in six subjects including at least two at C leel in Higher papers.

Korea: Overall grade average of final year results. A=4=su, B=3=wu, C=2=mi, D=1=yang, F=Fail=gu.

Malaysia STPM: Scores are normally calculated on the best three subjects attempted at one examination, and are calculated such as: A=4.0, A-=3.67, B+=3.33. B=3.0, B-=2.67, C+=2.33, C=2.0, C-=1.67, D+=1.33, D=1.0, F=0. Forecast or Preliminary STPM results will be considered for all programs except Medicine and Surgery.

Malaysia UEC: Score of 20 or less or 15 or less in the best 5 subjects of the UEC – Senior Middle Section (a minimum score of B4 in each subject, not including Chinese language or Bahasa Malaysia). A1=1, A2=2, B3=3, B4=4.

Norway: GPA scores on a 6.0 grading scale.

Pakistan: Scores are calculated on a percentage of the best 4 academic subjects in the Pakistan Intermediate/Higher Secondary School Certificate.

Scotland: Calculated on up to five best subjects (minimum 3 Higher passes), where A=3, B=2, C=1.

Sweden: Scores based on a scale where G=10, VG=15, MVG=20. GPA is calculated by multiplying the grade by the amount of hours per subject.

USA: High School Diploma or equivalent with an ACT composite score no less than 22 or SAT 1 composite score (Maths plus critical reading with no less than 400 in either) no less than 1000.
