The degree of emergency in any given situation will determine who to contact in the case of an emergency. If for example, before you arrive in Australia, your flight has been delayed or you are feeling ill and this will significantly disrupt your travel plans, or if your family would like an emergency contact number in Australia the following numbers are appropriate:

Once in Australia, in the event of an emergency dial 000 for Ambulance, Police or the Fire Department any time, day or night for 24-hour service. Tell the operator the service that you require and wait to be connected. Further information about emergency contacts and personal safety will be provided upon arrival during the welcome sessions.
