Computing and technology services and training
JCU promotes the use of technology for teaching and learning. Students enjoy access to many electronic resources, and free training is available to help them make the most of these tools.

All students get a computer account, email address and server space.

Wireless zones on campus let you access the web from your laptop.

Computer laboratories are available across all campuses, some are open 24 hours every day for computer and printer use. There are over 700 computer stations for student use on the Cairns and Townsville campuses alone.

InfoHelp is JCU’s one-stop shop for library and computing assistance, including helpful online tutorials and guides.

The JCU Library has an online catalogue, Tropicat, where you can order and renew books. It also has a wealth of electronic resources including hundreds of databases and more than 24,000 full text serial titles.

LearnJCU is JCU’s onllne teaching resource that brings together materials and interactive resources for each JCU subject.

StudentsOnline is the gateway for students to all their enrolment information. With Students Online you can create your own timetable, check exam results, change your enrolment details, create a personalized list textbooks and more.

Language and Learning Services provide face-to-face workshops and online tutorials for all students across a range of areas including time management, writing skills, English grammar, preparing for exams, note taking and much more.
