Master of Business Administration

“All in all, studying at JCU was very enjoyable, flexible and invaluable for my future career. Doing the MBA Program at JCU was one of the best decisions in my life. Cairns is a fantastic place to study and live; it is close to beautiful beaches, the tropical rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef. The university campus, being situated in such a natural location, was a refreshing change from the pace I have experienced in bigger cities.

JCU in Cairns offers comparably small class sizes and a fairly small campus with modern facilities. I found the lecturers very approachable and they provided good quality feedback on my work. The staff in the International Student Office are extremely friendly and helped me with whatever problem I had. Because of the fact that JCU has many overseas students I could meet, befriend and interact with students from various cultural backgrounds.

My recommendations to future students would be to take the opportunity to study at JCU as it offers quality, flexibility and teaching excellence – and all this in a unique tropical setting. Stay as long as you can so you can fit in travel and really experience life there.”

“I chose JCU because of the impressive course structure and JCU offered the subjects I wanted. If I still have to pick the best things about JCU then I would go for the friendly attitude of the staff and students. People are so very friendly and helpful that they make you feel at home the very first day you arrive. The location of JCU, the infrastructure, sophisticated labs, easily approachable staff, multicultural environment, are a few other best things to point out.

My JCU degree has fetched me the job I was looking for as a Junior Analyst. I was well exposed to the latest technologies while pursuing my education at JCU. This has very much helped me cope up with the high demands at work. I am confident that the degree at JCU will take me high and above in my career.

I strongly believe that Townsville is perfectly suited for education. The nice little city is calm, quiet and peaceful. There are a lot of wonderful things you can do to relax. The cost of living in Townsville is also much lower compared to the capital cities. I have to say that Townsville has the perfect blend of everything.”

Master of Information Technology – Master of Business Administration

“JCU is a different world. And it gives me immense pleasure to know that I belong to this world. Right from having hot cocoa in the refectory to the brainstorming IT classes... I love everything about JCU. And there is one more thing which I admire the most… THE DEDICATED SERVICE OF THE STAFF AND FACULTY…. Hats off to them…

I am a Full- Time student and am enjoying every second of it. Since am doing IT and Business, I would love to pursue a career in an IT company, managing the Business side of the company, which is what my degree is training me for.

One of the best decisions I have taken in my life is to choose TOWNSVILLE… I love waking up every morning and going for long walks by the riverside. The people are so friendly; they make me feel at home. I’ve never been homesick till now because Townsville has everything I need. I just have one word to describe Townsville- ‘SHANGRI-LA’….”

Master of Professional Accounting

"I have been studying at JCU for almost two years now. I recently completed my MBA (Dispute Resolution)in December 2006.I am a very proud member of the JCU Alumni!

The MPA program which I am doing currently at JCU Townsville, is well structured and definitely worth doing. The subjects are taught by friendly and highly qualified lecturers.

Our class size is reasonably small allowing for quality interaction between lecturers and students, surely the kind of attention we need!

I chose JCU for its caring attitude towards students and its implausible location in tropical North Queensland. Truly a place to be, especially when you're far away from home."

Master of Public Health & Tropical Medicine

“I heard about JCU through a student agency consultant. I chose to do my postgraduate studies in Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine,
through JCU because of its high standing reputation within the field of Tropical Medicine and Public Health. Personally I liked the flexible learning options at JCU and modes of study. Some of the subjects offered at JCU Townsville are unique and are offered in only few other select places in the world. Teaching staff are ever willing to help and cooperate. The interactions amongst students are great. Today I practice as a general practitioner in Townsville and have settled down here as it is indeed a beautiful place to study and live in. The lifestyle is great and laid back. It is great for fishing, sailing, trekking, and other sport.
I would gladly recommend JCU to other international students.
Come and enjoy the experience!”
