Recommendations for Setting Credit Limits on Staff Members
Before you give someone a credit limit, ask yourself the following questions.
- Is this person's usage likely to cause your Orgu to go over quota?
Remember that there will be many users in your Orgu that use below
the average quota per EFT. This means that there is room for a few users
with higher than usual balances. If your Orgu's projected usage is below
100%, then you probably won't have a problem.
- Have you spoken with the person about their internet use?
There may be legitimate reasons for the high amount of usage. Otherwise, let
the person know that you think their usage is going to cause the Orgu to go over
quota, and warn them that you can place a credit limit on them should it be
required. Hopefully this will be all that is necessary in most cases.
- If you set a limit on someone, what might the consequences be when he/she reaches that limit?
Remember that once a person reaches their credit limit, they can get
nothing from outside JCU. In some cases this may prevent a person from doing
their job properly.
While you can set a limit on any staff in your Orgu at any time, it is
recommended that the use of this capability be limited. It is expected that in
most cases staff members will be able to keep their usage to a reasonable
level without enforcing credit limits.
