Biography

Associate-Professor Dabner is based at Cairns and was the first permanent Law School representative there back in 1998 when the School commenced offerings in Cairns. Prior to moving to Cairns Justin held the positions as the Australian National Tax Director for Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and later Ernst and Young. This had followed a number of years working in legal practice and at the Law School at the University of Tasmania where he also completed his undergraduate degree in commerce and law and his PhD.

Justin’s research interests focus primarily on international comparative taxation law. He has extensively toured South East Asia working on research projects, undertaken research in the Pacific island state of Vanuatu and New Zealand and has previously been seconded to the Tax Policy Institute at Kansai University in Osaka, Japan.
