If you are fascinated and inspired by the Great Barrier Reef and have broad interests that include marine biology, environmental sciences, earth and physical sciences as well as mathematics, this could be the program for you.

JCU has the greatest diversity of marine biology and environmental courses that are available in Australia. The University also has international strengths in the areas of earth science and oceanography.

This degree is a new interdisciplinary major in Marine Science, offered in conjunction with the University of Sydney and the University of Queensland. The overall program is open to 25 elite students per year from each of the three partner universities. Other students including study-abroad students may apply to take individual courses.

Third year level intensive field subjects will be available to students who are continuing their Bachelor of Science degrees (and have a strong interest in marine science).
