Graduate Diploma of Research Methods

Barramundi

Overview

The Graduate Diploma in Research Methods require 1 year of full-time study for students to attain 24 academic units in coursework and research subjects. The nature of the research may be restricted by the availability of an appropriate supervisor, funding, and facilities for carrying out the proposed project. The University regards the awards as an entry qualification into studies towards a Master of Science by research degree for students who do not have a BSc Honours degree.

Potential enrollees may wish to discuss course options with a potential supervisor of the research work, or with one of the School's Academic Advisers or Masters Program Coordinators. Enrolment in the Graduate Certificate will depend on the student's academic record and research experience, and will be decided by the Head of School in consultation with the Course Coordinator.

Please note: Successful completion of any of the BSc (Hons), BAppSc (Hons), GDipResMeth or GCertResMeth courses does not guarantee entry into an Australian government-funded Research Training Position in a research degree (MSc or PhD), as the level of government funding currently limits the availability of places. There is no restriction on the number of places for domestic or international students who pay the full fee, but entry is subject to satisfactory prior performance, or to performance in preliminary courses.
