Physiology is a core discipline for all aquaculture development and is a key parameter in the production of aquaculture species. Research in this group addresses a broad range of physiological questions ranging from applied aquaculture, to more esoteric marine ecological issues. Aquaculture research focuses on identifying predictors of egg quality in marine finfish and linking maternal attributes to egg quality. In addition there are programs on sound as a stressor in aquaculture systems and the remediation of aquaculture waste using sea cucumbers.
