Orientation for New Postgraduate Students

School tours: A tour of school facilities directly relevant to new postgraduates.

Information sessions: These explain the structure of the programs, subject requirements, research option, continuing on to research degrees (MPhil and PhD). Must attend before meeting your Coordinator. You only need to attend one.

Information for Postgraduate Students



School Postgraduate Community Site

The School has its own community site within LearnJCU. This site includes a variety of information including all school booklets, advertisements of grants and jobs, information on the Postgraduate School Conference, and other. To gain access to this site you must provide us with your login id (jcxxxxxx). A number of staff can be contacted for this: Postgraduate Officer , Student Support, Course Coordinators.

Once your details are added follow these steps to enter the site:
  1. Log onto LearnJCU
  2. Click on the ‘Communities’ box located on the top right hand corner
  3. A new box will appear on the top left corner ‘ My Communities Plus’ and within that ‘Postgraduates School of Marine and Tropical Biology‘.
  4. Click on that to enter the site
