Tropical Crops

This program examines the physiological and genetic basis of adaptation in tropical crops, and the implications for crop management and varietal improvement. Crops of interest include soybeans, mungbeans, cowpeas and sugarcane.

Current research is focused on the use of indigenous wild relatives to improve the adaptation of grain legume crops to environmental stresses.
