As the principle research investigator, Yan leads the targeted R&D of Microalgae Manufacturing for the Advanced Manufacturing CRC Program at JCU with industry partner MBD Energy. Yan manages and works with the JCU/MDB’s multi-disciplinary microalgae team, with a research focus on innovative applied biotechnologies and microalgal value-adding bioproducts (eg., animal feeds, human food, nutraceuticals, and water conditioning agents). Our research provides the basis for cost-effective production of microalgal biomass and the platform to value-add to aquaculture, agriculture, mining and other industries.
