Applying for postgraduate nursing and midwifery coursework programs

International applicants apply through the JCU International Student Centre.
Documentation Checklist (Domestic Applicants):
Please make sure you have included the ALL of the following documents – this will ensure there are no delays with the processing of your application.

Copy of your current AHPRA RN Registration

Confirmation of current RN specialty unit employment (on letterhead) from your current employer (required for the following courses only – Critical Care, Midwifery, Neonatal Care, Nurse Practitioner).

Certified copy of RN training (official academic transcript or hospital certificate) (not required if you undertook your studies at JCU). Note: JCU is able to obtain a QualSearch report of academic transcripts from a number of universities (excluding South Australia) – see QualSearch website for a list of participating institutions.

If the name on your academic record/hospital certificate is different to your current name, please attach a certified copy of documentary evidence of your name change (e.g. marriage certificate).
Applicants applying for RPL/advanced standing/professional experience recognition:

Certified copies of supporting documentation (e.g. official academic transcripts of all tertiary studies; TPNEP Certificates; professional qualifications).

A current Curriculum Vitae which includes RN employment history (with brief description of roles) and the names and contact details of two referees.
Admission Requirements:
Further pre-requisite conditions apply to the following courses:
Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery
Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma/Master (Critical Care major)
Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma (Neonatal Care)
Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner)
All courses commence in Study Period 1 (February) each year. Mid-year (July) entry is also available (some courses have limited subject selections mid-year).It is recommended that applications be submitted as early as possible but by no later than 30 December for February intake and 30 May for July intake.
Late applications will be considered after these dates, however this may result in delayed enrolment.
