James Cook University Minor Works

MINOR WORKS ARE NOW OPEN FOR 2009

The aims of the Minor Works Submissions are to:

1. Establish a view of the University's needs and strategic plans
2. Establish the criteria to be used in evaluating bids
3. Determine the initial sum to be allocated for Minor Works purposes and propose the sum to be withheld for subsequent allocation
4. Review the bids proposed under the budget procedure
5. Recommend to the DVC by September, a set of bids for immediate approval and implementation the following year
6. At mid year, rank the remaining bids against any sum withheld, for subsequent allocation
7. Publish a list of approved projects

Minor Works Program Development

To be considered a minor work in JCU terms, a project must be valued in the range $5,000 to $75,000. Projects exceeding the maximum value are not regarded as “minor” in nature and should be considered under the Capital Development Plan bidding process. Projects valued at less than $5,000 are to be considered at the Faculty/Divisional level.
