Change of Preference Checklist

This checklist provides things to consider when you are thinking about changing your preference.

  1. Now that you know your OP, you can be more realistic about your choices. You may have received a better result than you expected; in which case you may decide to add a new course(s) to your preference list. Or perhaps you didn't do quite as well as you'd hoped; in this case you may decide to remove a course(s) from your preference list and replace them with more appropriate choices.
  2. List your first preference as the course you really want to do.
  3. If you add a new course, don't forget that you must have completed the prerequisite subjects and meet any extra requirements. In some cases it is not possible to add a new course at Change of Preference time.
  4. Still feel free to seek advice - come along to JCU and have a look at the facilities; speak to other students and staff. At JCU “OP” not only means OPportunity but it also means OPtions and plenty of them.
  5. If you're having trouble deciding on your preferences, speak to your careers teachers, friends, your parents or people working in the industry you are interested in.
  6. If you're not sure about your choice, or if you need further information, please call JCU on 1800 246 466. The hotline will be open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday until December 22nd.
