RELEASE 11.1 UPDATE CD'S TO SHIP IN DECEMBER

We will shortly receive update CD's for all MATLAB licensees under a current subscription service.  In addition to various patches, the CD's will facilitate the release of some new products including:

The Financial Time Series Toolbox contains a collection of tools for the analysis of time series data in the financial markets. www.mathworks.com/products/timeseries

The xPC Target will allow a remote computer to act as a real time controller with c-code automatically created from Simulink then automatically downloaded over a TCP/IP connection.  xPC provides a new and economical method of implementing real-time DSP and control systems. www.mathworks.com/products/xpctarget

Dials & Gauges Blockset lets you easily add graphical instruments to your Simulink models. Using Dials & Gauges Blockset, you can set up realistic-looking instruments that are custom-designed for your Simulink model and visually representative of the environment that you are modeling.  www.mathworks.com/products/dialsgauges

The Quantized Filtering Toolbox can create and simulate filters for fixed point and custom precision floating point platforms, including off-the-shelf DSPs, ASICs, and FPGAs. MOTOROLA DSP DEVELOPER'S KIT LINKING TO MATLAB WAS DEVELOPED IN AUSTRALIA
===============================================================
The MathWorks, Inc. today announced that it has co-developed a new tool with Motorola, Inc., that will simulate and test algorithms for Motorola's 56300 and 56600 families of fixed-point DSPs. The product, known as the Motorola DSP Developer's Kit, will integrate Motorola's DigitalDNA development environment with The MathWorks' Simulink and MATLAB DSP design tools, bridging the worlds of system-level design and DSP implementation.

The major portion of  the Motorola DSP Developer's Kit was co-developed in Australia at Motorola's Software Development Centre.

The integration of Motorola DSP tools technology into the MATLAB/Simulink environment will allow the development of behavioural designs and test suites, and the development and test of detailed fixed-point DSP software within a single development environment  The Motorola DSP Developer's Kit bridges these two development phases by providing seamless co-simulation between The MathWorks tools and Motorola's Suite56 simulators, integrated debugging and analysis, and a foundation library of DSP algorithms packaged as MATLAB functions and Simulink blocks.



MATHWORKS CLEAR LEADER IN SIMULATION/MODELLING TOOLS FOR EMBEDDED SYSTEMS DESIGN

PC-IN-THE-LOOP FOR RAPID PROTOTYPING OF REAL-TIME EMBEDDED SYSTEMS

MathWorks PC-in-the-Loop, its new environment which enables control and DSP engineers to perform rapid prototyping and system-level testing of real-time embedded systems on a PC - before target hardware is available. Ideally suited to embedded systems design in industries such aerospace, automotive, communications, and industrial automation, PC-in-the-Loop allows software development and testing to continue in parallel to hardware design, accelerating the entire design process and harnessing the powerful capabilities of hardware-in-the-loop simulation. PC-in-the-Loop is enabled by the release of xPC Target, a new turnkey target environment for Simulink, Stateflow, and Real-Time Workshop. 


MATLAB COMPILER SUITE - A SPECIAL BUNDLE AT A DISCOUNT PRICE

CDMA REFERENCE BLOCKSET FOR SIMULINK ANNOUNCED

The CDMA (for IS-95A) Reference Blockset is a Simulink library for the design and simulation of wireless communications systems. It is an extension of Simulink, The MathWorks design tool that lets system designers create and simulate systems in a block diagram environment. 

"The CDMA Reference Blockset provides a comprehensive set of industrial grade CDMA blocks, critical wireless system impairment models, and useful end-to-end examples," said Ahmad R.S. Bahai, PhD, Vice-President and CTO of Algorex, Inc. "The Blockset enables researchers and developers of wireless systems to expedite their design process considerably using the Blockset's implementation oriented, reliable, and flexible components. System designers, chip designers, and academic and industrial researchers can utilize the Blockset as a platform for algorithm development, system performance analysis, and educational purposes."

dSPACE RELEASES TARGETLINK

dSPACE has released Targetlink, their production quality code generator for SIMULINK.  Targetlink will generate code for a range of commercial ECU's ( Engine Control Units ) in seconds, creating code which is comparable to handwritten code.

dSPACE RTI GENERATES C-CODE FROM SIMULINK 3.0
