ITR holds reference copies of books, manuals, applications notes and other documentation relating to use of the systems we administer and in general these are catalogued and available by searching the Online Public Access Catalogue, Tropicat, available on the web
Relatively urgent information for users is published in the public notices on the Web News and Events Bulletins, including advice on system outages and downtimes, software and hardware changes and software and security advice.
The University Web site is administered and maintained by ITR using information provided from its own resources and by the various Faculties and Divisions.
ITR can arrange to obtain, demonstration or test copies of various software packages for central systems and for microcomputers.
Announcements of these demonstrations or test services are provided by bulletins posted to the JCU News and Events page and by direct mailing to IT Support staff and clients. Note that there are often strict constraints on the installation licensing and length of time such packages are made available.
