Internal Funding Schemes

Career Development Grants Scheme (CDG)

Research Committee and the Vice-Chancellor's Advisory Committee have resolved that funding budgeted for the Career Development Grant Scheme in 2008 will be administered through the Faculties.

Information on the most recent CDG round (in 2006) follows.


Description
The CDG scheme is the University's primary source of internal competitive research funding for researchers in the early stages of their careers. 

The scheme provides seed funding for high quality projects of modest cost to assist staff to gain research momentum and to enhance their competitiveness in attracting external research funding. 

Funding Levels
$2,000 - $10,000 

Duration of Grant
One calendar year 

Eligibility (general)
Applicants must meet the definitions of early career researcher; have a research degree or equivalent research doctorate; and have a guaranteed appointment of not less than 2 years at Acad Level A or above and for the duration of the grant. 

Selection Process
Applications are assessed by a multidisciplinary panel.
