JCU Collaborative Research Grants Scheme
(CRGS)
Research Committee and the Vice-Chancellor's Advisory Committee have resolved that funding budgeted for the
Collaborative Research Grant Scheme in 2008 will be
administered through the Faculties.

Description
The CRGS aims to encourage strategic research alliances between the
University and industry. Seed funding is provided for projects that are
of economic and social benefit to Australia and / or are of benefit to
rural or regional communities, and that should lead to future
collaborative
grant submissions to external funding bodies. Funds are awarded on a
competitive
basis on a dollar for dollar matching basis with the Industry
Partner.
Funding Levels
Up to $20,000 maximum per project on a dollar for dollar matching
basis.
The Industry Partner contribution may be in cash or in cash and
in-kind.
Minimum cash contributions are required.
Duration of Grant
One calendar year
Eligibility
Applicants must have a research degree and hold a guaranteed
appointment
of not less than 2 years at Acad Level A or above. To be eligible as an
Industry Partner, an organisation must be a private sector industry
organisation,
a private non-profit organisation or a Government agency. State or
federally
funded research organisations are not eligible eg AIMS, CSIRO
Selection Process
Applications are assessed by a Selection Panel nominated by the
Pro-Vice-Chancellor
(Research & Innovation). The Panel will include at least one
representative
from an extra-mural organisation.
