Appointment of Examiners - Near Relatives
Policy and Procedures
- 1.
General Policy
- a.
Where a candidate for an examination is a near relative of the person appointed as examiner for that particular course, a second examiner should be appointed; such second examiner should not be related to the particular candidate nor to the first examiner.
- b.
Where two persons are appointed as examiners for a particular course and each of those persons has a near relative (the same or different persons) as a candidate for that examination and the two examiners are themselves related, a third examiner should be appointed; such third examiner should not be related to either of the other two examiners nor to either of the two particular candidates.
- 2.
Approval of the Vice-Chancellor
No near relative of a candidate shall act as examiner without the written approval of the Vice-Chancellor.
