Deferment Options

Successful applicants can defer starting their course for a maximum period of 12 months, through QTAC.

However if you wish to defer from Bachelor Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery you will need to apply in writing, stating your reasons for requesting deferral, to:

Faculty Medicine, Health and Molecular Science,
James Cook University,
Townsville 4811.

To defer in the following courses:

Bachelor Veterinary Science
Bachelor Pharmacy
Bachelor Physiotherapy

you will need to apply in writing, stating your reasons for requesting deferral, to:

Manager Admissions,
Student Administration,
James Cook University,
Townsville 4811.

Letters of deferral must be received at the University by 21 January, 2008.

In some courses, you are able to take up your deferred place in the mid-year intake or in the February intake of the following year. For further information, please contact the Student Enquiry Centre on 1800 246 446.

If you wish to be considered for admission to a course other than the one you deferred, you will need to re-apply to QTAC.
