A major part of commercial activities is the design and construction of specialized equipment for sediment transport studies. Over 80 units have been built and sold in Australia and overseas. Customers include AIMS, DSTO, EPA (QLD), Geelong Port Authority, Gladstone Port Authority, Ports Corp. of QLD,WBM, GHD, OK Tedi Mining, Lihir Mining, Misima Mines, U. Copenhagen, Murdoch University, ORSTOM (New Caledonia). -
All proceeds of consulting work goes to funding projects and scholarships for PhD student. Post grad students are often employed for short periods on consulting work in order to give them valuable commercial experience, provide industry linkage, and broaden their knowledge. It also helps to supplement their meagre incomes!
