The evidence that B. dendrobatidis can infect all species of
amphibian is steadily increasing as the number of amphibian species
examined for the chytrid increases. In Australia 28 species of amphibians
from 4 families have been proven to be infected. The amphibian diseases
group maintains a list of infected species on a web page.
This is updated as new records are detected.
Experimental work in progress is examing the effect of temperature on the pathogenicity of B. dendrobatidis. |
