Combination Scholarships

Combination scholarships of up to $34,000 are available to students who are successful in applying for an Australian Postgraduate Award or James Cook University Postgraduate Research Scholarship and who wish to undertake research within the Vascular Biology Unit.

Potential projects in this area include:

  1. Developing new mice models of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA)

  2. Investigating the effect of medication on aneurysm development and progression in mice models

  3. Relating human biomarkers to AAA presence and progression

  4. Investigating mechanisms underlying the association of obesity and AAA

  5. Investigating the influence of exercise on pathological markers of AAA.

  6. Assessing the influence of cytokines on aneurysm development in mice models.
