Clubs, Associations and Societies

Clubs and societies play an active role in the University community by providing students and staff the opportunity to meet people with common interests and to pursue those interests. Some clubs, societies and associations are also open to members of the general public.

There are more than 40 clubs & societies affiliated with the Student Association. These include sporting, recreational and faculty groups. The Student Association offers financial and administrative support to these organisations. Students are encouraged to join existing clubs or to start their own.

Some clubs, associations and societies which have developed WWW pages are listed below.

JCU clubs, associations and societies needing a web site in this area of the JCU web should carefully read the policy document: Rules for Clubs and Societies with web sites at JCU and make appropriate written representation to the JCU Web Manager, Information Technology and Resources, James Cook University

Additionally, some of these groups are affiliated with the James Cook University Association. The Union has over 40 affiliated clubs and societies.
