Cycle Visibility Ride

Wednesday 12 Noon Ride

Do you ride a bicycle to JCU? Do you ride once, twice, all week?
All students and employees of JCU should know that JCUBUG is the voice for bicycle users and that we are working with the university towards better safety and facilities for bicyclists.
Here is your chance to show you are proud to ride to JCU - A Visibility Ride will take place on the 4th of June and we need EVERYONE to come and show their support.

Start: At the area near the students refectory graffiti wall.
Time: Meet at 10 to 12, ride in a group around parts of the campus, Finish around 1 pm, after a (BYO) picnic lunch near Rococos.
Actions: We have invited top JCU mangement to meet us and discuss cycling issues.

2008 Bicycle Questionaire

We conducted an email survey of the members to determine what their top three issues are at JCU wrt to cycling. They are:
1. Better shower and change rooms - designed for people using active transport to commute to work.
2. Bike lanes on the ring roads - Douglas and Smithfield.
3. Wider shared paths on campus. (and access to the ones on Smithfield.)

Full report here. or in PDF.
We also collected some general bicycle usage stats wrt to commuting, training, recreational and utility cycling. Results of that here.

Thanks to all for responding to the survey.
