Welcome

to the JCU Bushwalking Club Homepage. We are fairly large club with over 100 members. Our aim is to provide students with access to North Queenslands wildereness areas, and promote an understanding and appreciation of nature.Blencoe Falls

Many students at JCU do not have their own transport, which makes it difficult to escape surban life and get out and enjoy nature. Our club has solved this problem by organising university transport and car pools.

We invite you (and your friends) to come with us on walks and camping trips. Bushwalking is a great way to meet people, keep fit and experience some of the natural wonders of North Queensland. To join our club, you can register online and subscribe to our E-mail list by clicking the 'JOIN' button on the top left hand corner of the page.

The Bushwalking Club works in two ways. Organised Trips are planned once or twice a month. In addition, everyone in the club is connected via email, which means you can organise your own trips, just by sending out an E-mail and seeing who is interested.

Membership for the club is $5, which can be paid on your first walk. Most walks are limited to 12 or 15 people - unless additional transport can be arranged.

For overnight and week long trips, we ask that you let us know you are interested in coming as early as possible. This can be done by subscribing to E-mail lists found on the 'Walks/Organised Trips' homepage.

The Bushwalking Club expects its members to be responsible in their actions and behaviour. Information regarding these expectations, safety issues and legal obligations can be found Here.
