Digital Visual Arts
Overview
Digital Visual Arts is one of the five majors available in the Bachelor of New Media Arts Degree. This Major encompasses an investigation into the fundamental principles of design, issues of visual communication, popular culture, and critical theory as applied to digital visual arts. The objective is to be able communicate ideas through the use of imagery which conveys an effective aesthetic because it is based on clear intent, ideation and concept.
Creativity and critical theoretical approaches are the main principles guiding this major. Students will be encouraged to be aware of how images communicate, how people read visuals and how to construct visuals using a variety of digital media that communicate with the viewer.
