Facilities
The Creative Arts are taught and experienced in cutting edge learning spaces.
The new building on the Townsville, Douglas campus features:

Three computer labs which operate independently and also as a “mega lab” with projection and surround sound audio-visual environments;

A digital output centre;

Print finishing room;

Four photographic studios that operate as individual studios and also as “mega studio” which offers vehicle access, purpose-built cyclorama and pantographic lighting system;

Drawing and multi-arts studios that operate independently and together;
-
Acoustically designed digital sound editing studios, rehearsal and performance space;
-
Industry standard recording studio and control room;
-
Professional gallery and digitally enhanced foyer area; and
-
Indoor/Outdoor performance areas for exhibitions and multi-arts events.
The Cairns campus offers students:

access to theatre rehearsal spaces;
-
specialist art, music and photographic studios and;
-
both pc and mac computer labs.

Cairns students also have access to a number of specialist community arts spaces, such as the Jute Theatre performance areas.
Construction of the School of Creative Arts Project at Douglas has commenced and is due for completion by January 2008. The SoCA complex comprises four new buildings and will be constructed to the northern side of the Sir George Kneipp Auditorium.
